Accessibility

Built for everyone. Checked every launch.

We sell accessibility as part of every build, so it would be embarrassing not to hold ourselves to it. Here's our commitment, in plain terms — including what we can't promise.

Our commitment for this site

This website is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That means sufficient colour contrast, full keyboard navigation, visible focus states, meaningful alt text on images, properly labelled form fields, a logical heading structure, and respect for reduced-motion preferences.

What we do on every site we build

  • Colour contrast that meets AA ratios — checked, not eyeballed
  • Keyboard navigation through every interactive element, with a visible focus ring and a skip-to-content link
  • Alt text on every meaningful image; decorative images hidden from screen readers rather than described pointlessly
  • Labelled form fields, with errors announced properly rather than shown only in red
  • Logical headings — one H1, then real structure, not text sized to look like headings
  • Reduced motion honoured for people who get sick from animation
  • Captions on video, because most people watch with the sound off anyway
  • Automated and manual checks before every launch — automated tools catch roughly a third of issues, so we also tab through it and zoom to 200%

Why this matters commercially, not just morally

Thousands of accessibility lawsuits and demand letters are filed against US small businesses every year, and plaintiffs' firms find targets by scanning sites in bulk with automated tools. Restaurants, clinics and local services are frequent targets. Most web designers never mention any of this to their clients.

It's also just business: an inaccessible site turns away customers who were ready to buy from you.

What we can't promise

No one can guarantee legal compliance — not us, not any agency, and be wary of the overlay widgets that claim to. Accessibility is an ongoing practice, not a certificate. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA best practice and verify it at launch.

Content you add later is your responsibility. If you upload images without alt text or publish a PDF that's an unreadable scan, that's outside what we shipped. We'll tell you how to do it properly, and it's in your contract.

Found a problem?

If any part of this site is difficult to use, we want to hear about it and we'll fix it. Email hello@reimaginewebdesign.com or call (704) 555-0100. Tell us the page, what happened, and what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within two business days.

If you'd rather not email, mention it on the contact form — it reaches the same place.
